The music from the jukebox won't go away. All of it is still being used in the improved system. No tracks were harmed during the making of this expansion. |

Eskimo Spy wrote:Being a self-important audio engineer myself, is there anyyyyy chance CCP can enable an HQ audio option? I simply cannot stand the 128kbps mp3 compression applied to the music, as I usually play with head phones on.
I realize this would eat up some computer processor/ram stuff, but as with graphics, it'd be nice to have the option.
Also, remix competition on a song. My vote is for Below The Asteroid.
Music is compressed by a modified .ogg encoder provided by our sound engine and I use much less than 128kbps
Changing the compression would mean bigger client download, it should cost the same processor time to decode and no RAM since all the music is streamed from the harddrive. |

Salpad wrote:I hope the dynamic 500/20/whatever track-sequence mixing thing being null-sec only is a test, and that if it works out allright, something similar will be implemented for low-sec, high-sec, wormholes and during combat missions.
Of course. We have a prototype of the combat mission music. *tease* |

Panhead4411 wrote:You also added some annoyingly repetitive sounds...
Undock sound Dock sound Initial NPC aggression sound End of NPC aggression sound "New" Stargate sounds still just sound like broken TS or Vent noises.
Just to name a few...and these all stack on top of each other, if i undock while still flagged with NPC aggression i then get both new sounds...
Also, would it be possible to give us an option to turn turret sounds UP...currently in order to hear my turret sounds i have to have the environment sounds to a point where the VERY repetitive NPC rat sounds get extremely annoying. Also, with the volume at the level needed to hear my turrets shooting, while avoiding the even more annoying and very repetitive active module noises, it would be nice to have a "station" volume option, so we don't have to keep turning our volume up and down constantly.
There should be no docking/undocking sounds.
As for the aggression timer sound that is a bug. |

Mikron Alexarr wrote:As a veteran who played with sound, it saddens me a bit to hear the music will go to the cloud. "...But Still We Go On" is the first thing I always heard when I log into eve. That welcoming music was part of the routine that kept me grounded. I understand the reasoning, and Eve is all about reasoning and cold numbers. As I listen to the music now though (on sound cloud), I am reminded that all things change, and Eve should be no exception.
My sincere hope is that the music team can come up with tracks of the quality that these old legacy tracks had. Bash the old music all you want. It has been there for a long time, and I've always loved listening to it. I'm glad that the option to listen to it in the cloud is there just in case the music team cocks it up. Actually, I think it would be great if we could hear more samples as they are developed from the music team. You could put those on sound cloud too.
Weird, my client will always plays "Miner Stories" first.
All the old music still plays in hi-sec, and different songs for different situations/locations. Try to hear them all. |

Mara Pahrdi wrote:I'm using the jukebox occasionally. And this is coming a bit early, since I'm still waiting for that 50 MBit connection I ordered and that I'll probably get in q1 2013. Currently I'm still running on 384 KBit/s , so streaming whatever ist not an option.
So, if you open up your EVE folder, and go res > audio > jukebox you'll find all the mp3s used in the game. Just copy them out and put them into your favorite media player. |
